chematic-draw ("we", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle information in connection with the chematic-draw desktop application and the chematic.io website.

Information We Collect

The chematic-draw desktop application processes all molecular files locally on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your chemical data to any server.

The chematic.io website is a static site. We do not use cookies, analytics trackers, or any form of user tracking. Standard server access logs may be retained by our infrastructure provider (Amazon CloudFront) in accordance with their own privacy policy.

External API (IUPAC Name Lookup)

chematic-draw offers an optional IUPAC name lookup feature that queries the PubChem API. When you use this feature, the SMILES or InChI of the molecule is sent directly from your device to PubChem (pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov). We do not receive or store any data from this request.

This feature requires an internet connection and is subject to the PubChem terms of service and privacy policy. All other features of the app work fully offline.

Contact Form

When you submit the contact form on chematic.io, your name, email address, and message are transmitted securely to our email service provider (Resend) and forwarded to us. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties.

Children's Privacy

chematic-draw is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of chematic-draw after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
